PCC Luau

I loved the Luau's food, it was so good. Of course the Pineapple drink was yummy as well. The Luau itself I was a little disapointing in that I think they put so much into there night show that the Luau's kind of suffer, but still fun to see.

Canoe Ride

Once we arrived at the PCC we went on the canoe ride. The ride gives you a brief tour and history of all the different Islands being representd. All the workers loved Brett because of his shirt he was wearing (All Blacks). I felt like we got special treatment. Once the ride was over we walked around the different Islands It was kind of dissapointing because they were all getting ready for the Luau so we didnt get to see much.

On Our Way To The Polynesian Cultural Center

We rode a tour bus to the PCC, it was nice to have someone telling us of the history and pointing things out. However, did we really need to stop so he could have a smoke break? Apparently so, oh well what do youd do. The picture taken from the outside of the beach I just thought was pretty and the one taken from inside the bus is where they filmed Jurassic Park.

Once we left the falls we decided to hike up a little higher, well we werent seeing anything so we were turning around when somepeople told us that we needed to go a little further to see this tree. They said we couldnt miss is. They were right its one interesting tree.

Ala Moana Falls and Rainforest

This rainforest was so beautiful, so green and so many beautiful colors. Its a Pretty easy hike, but challenging in the way that you have to watch you feet to make sure you dont slip and fall on you butt (very muddy). We were surrounded with Bamboo and Palm trees. This forest is also where they filmed part of LOST. When we got to the water falls we were so upset that someone would lite up a cigar up there. It made me so sick and hard to want to stay up there. I Cant Believe That some people can be so RUDE. We hiked a little bit higher after seeing the falls and my shoe came of. Nothing sucks more than mud in between your toes. So we turned around especially since people were telling us that there was nothing to even see up higher. Funny thing to we ran into some people who were LDS as well and just moved there from SLC. Small world.

Tour Guide Or A Want to Be Indina Jones YOU DECIDE

So sometimes I think Brett and I can spend money on so many one time use things. For example, I have to have my Cruise Outfit for when we get onto a cruise. I guess I have seen to many movies and the women getting on the cruises just look so cruise worthy (you know the big fancy hats and the pants and shirts). Well the night before when we were shopping Brett found this hat, he calls it his jungle hat or X Box night with the guys hat. Arent we told to be frugal with you expenses? Yeah we have a lot to learn.

Shopping

What would a trip be without all the shopping. I Love it. After our Beach Day we got back to the hotel, got ready and had dinner and walked down the Wakkiki strip. There are so many places to shop. Tons of places I have never heard of. I love finding things that are different and unique. We found clothes, jewerly, pictures, and home decor. I love decorating our house with items that we got on our trips. Here we are in front of the International Market Place, we found some great deals there. But we didnt buy to much because we were also planning on going to the Stadiums flea Market. That place was huge its funny though because after you have walked about half of it you start seeing the same things over and over again, different vendors just everyone selling the same thing.

More of Hanama Bay

As we were leaving the bay we saw this interesting animal. Does anyone know what it is? If so let us know. We also saw this Bananna tree and it reminded Brett of how the Bannanas looked in Brazil. Did you know that here in America we peel our Banannas from the wrong side you should peel from what we know as the bottom.

As if we Were back Home

While at Hanama Bay I was laying out, and heard Chicken noises. At first I didnt think much of it I just figured it was my chickens, than I thought wait a minute what are my chickens doing here? To look over and see a couple wild chickens just hainging out at the Beach. I feel bad ours cant live at the Beach.

Hanama Bay

This Bay is so breath taking. This fish were so gorgeous and such amazing colors. It was so fun to be able to see the fish that we have in our own house and that we see in the fish store. Although the reefs werent the best that I have seen the fish were the best Ive ever seen. It was pretty cool how shallow the water would be and yet they were huge fish all around you and you would feel like you had to suck in your gut just so you didnt hit the coral or worse the sea orhins (no idea how to spell that). I saw some huge Parrot fish, Clown Fish, Hawk fish and I dont want to forget the Blow fish. It was great to see fish I recognized and knew about.

You and me in Paradise

So Brett and myself are not the biggest of dancers, so we did not have a dance at our wedding. A part of me has regreted it becasue we never had a song. But while we were on our Honeymoon cruise we walked out from having dinner to hear one the entertainers on the ship. He saw us and picked out this song for us. I love it even though it doesnt really apply to us. I love the chours and the beat. After that I never regreated not dancing at our wedding.Of all the places Brett and I have been to now, Hawaii was such a sweet Paradise.
I loved this restaurant, our friends the Harrobs told us about this restaurant and it was amazing. It was an all you can eat Seafood Buffet YUMMY. For Dessert their was tons of different thing like pie, cookies, brownnies, cakes, but of course my favorite was the Chocolate Fondu with pineapple and Strawberries. All the food was so great and since it was a buffet we tried everything. I loved it for Brett because he has never tried alot of the things like mussles, lobster and crab. They also have a pinapple that as you can see errupts. The restaurant was great being surrounded with a huge tank of Salt water fish. I loved eating dinner and watching so many beautiful fish swim bye. Thanks Harrobs for such a great recomdation, you guys are great.

Funny Story

After our Hike of course we needed to grab a Snow Cone, so many people were telling us they were so good. So we grabbed one and it was YUMMY. Anyway we started walking back to catch the bus when I tripped over something and almost dropped the snow cone. Now of course Brett came to the rescue and tried to catch me but it really looked like he was trying to save the snow cone than me. Anway we had a good laugh. FORBID WE WASTE THE SNOW CONE... HAHA. Love you Brett and yes deep down I know you were trying to catch me.

Hike Up Diamond Head

So after setting waiting for the bus for 1 1/2 a taxi drove by and gave us a ride Diamond Head. Side note the bus system there is a joke we wasted a lot of time waiting for buses. We would find out that they dont run on certain days or they dont run anymore. Anyway back to my amazing trip, It was a pretty easy hike, however CHECK OUT THOSE STAIRS. WOW they were quite a workout. Men would be drenched in sweat by the time they got up them it was actually kind of funny, but also I was proud of them in a weired way that they made it. I think it shows determination. Well the creator itself was a little disapointing but such an amazing view. We were also able to see Maui in the distance.

So after getting back from the Dole Plantation we grabbed some dinner and walked on the beach and watched the sun set. We went out on the Pier and walking back there were tons of crabs so many it was kind of freaky but still cool. Alright hold your breath for day 3

Sunday, November 9, 2008

The Dole Plantation was great. Pineapple is my favorite fruit, so I love being able to eat it so fresh it was by far the best Ive ever had. They had so many pineapple treats. Bretts favorite was the pineapple ice cream and mine was the chocolate covered pinapples. They had pinapple pancakes, syrup, lotions anything you could think of. We even learned how you can grow your own pineapples. We are going to try it come Spring. Before we left though Bretts Grandpa told us not to eat to much pineapple (it will give you the runns) so I think we did pretty good. We joked about it alot though. One thing I loved about Hawaii was that pinepple comes with every meal. Its always on the side. I loved it.

Dole Plantation

The Mighty Miss

After we left the USS Arizona memorial, we went to the USS Missouri battleship. It was incredible. The nice thing about it is that you can wander around the ship on your own, and go pretty much wherever. The USS Missouri is the ship where Japan signed the surrender document to end World War II. That is the pictures of the documents. It saw action through desert storm. It was awesome. It is amazing how big that thing is. We also saw the quarters where the men sleep. It is soooo tiny. They have 6 bunks in a room about half the size of a normal bedroom. I don't think I could do it. It is well worth it to go see if you ever have the chance.

Day 2 Pearl Harbor

WE woke up early the next morning and took a bus over to Pearl Harbor. Once we got there the line was so long, but once they opened it moved pretty fast. We were super lucky because they had 4 seats left for the first showing and one of the workers asked if we were with the couple in front of us off course were going to say yeah and we were able to jump so far up in line it probably saved us an hour or two. You watch a quick video and than get on a boat and head over. Its absoutley a breathtaking, humbling, reverent occasion. I loved how everyone had so much respect for this ship and was so quite. I loved and felt very blessed to experience it, an dlearn more about that day.

Pearl Harbor

Day One

So once arriving we got on a shuttle that took us straight to our Hotel. After checking in and settling down, we were both so hungry so we walked out the hotel and found a fun little restaurant. Brett ordered the Slaughter House Burger, this burger has every meat you can imagine (hince the name) it was huge. I on the hand just got a bowl of chili. It was great to sit there and look out at the ocean while eating and the food was great. After dinner we walked around the Beach and enjoyed the sunset. We were pretty tired so we went back to our room planned for the next day and went to sleep. I think we fell alsleep at like 7pm Hawaii time. Yeah I know really excited, but keep in mind it was 11 back home. Although some poeple forgot, Yes Tanya YOU who called at 2 in the morning. HAHA Love ya
